The main varieties grown in Kenya is a local variety, reffered to as “Kienyeji”, followed by Fuerte variety and then Hass variety, in that order. Hass Avocado

The Hass avocado variety is the most popular Kenya avocado and is originally from Guatemala. One of its most prominent features is that it turns dark purple when ripe. Samsons Limited Fresh Avocados are grown under the equator sun on the lush green slopes of Mt. Kenya.

Fuerte Avocado

Fuerte variety, popularly known for its green smooth skin and is produced for most of the year.

Pinkerton Avocado

The Pinkerton originated in 1961 and soon became known for its consistent, heavy yields. Pinkerton avocados have an elongated pear shape with green, slightly pebbled, medium thick, and easy-to-peel skin.
